Beach lounging, fishing charters, jet skis, and other fun in the sun activities are what’s happening here. Here is also where the 2nd oldest church in the entire western hemisphere is located.

7. Pearl Islands

These would still be pretty off the map if the show, Survivor, wasn’t filmed here. After it gained its popularity from the show it has been a tourist destination featuring excellent green jungles, white sand and blue water. Take a private yacht out for a cruise and adventure around the archipelago.

6. Sendero Los Quetzales

Grab a guide or hop on a tour and traverse your way through the scenic forests just outside of Cerro Punto. These trails are some of the most gorgeous in the region. The trails range from four to seven hours depending which one you choose. Pass the Rio Caldera and admire the mountains surrounding Boquete.

5. Santa Catalina

Once a secret, this coastal town is certainly on the map for tons of dudes and dudettes into surfing. The epic surf is recognized around the world now and the natural beauty in the surrounding jungle is amazing. Don’t expect too much in terms of amenities, but who cares about that anyway when you’ll be spending your time on the sandy beaches.

4. Coiba

Coiba National Park known for its extensive marine life, and here’s your chance to check it out. There’s a staggering 800 plus sea critters calling this spot home and diving and snorkeling is the only way to see them. Coiba is an island in the park and it’s the biggest in Central America.

3. Bocas Town

Here’s more of a chance to get underwater to see the impressive sea-views from below. The extensive coral reefs feature tropical fish and people diving down to check them out. There’s of course more jungle to explore here, so when you’re done with the water adventures, hop out and take a hike.

2. Panama Canal

This is probably the single thing that this country is popular for, if nothing else. The impressive Panama Canal has vessels maneuvering through it on the daily and you can watch it from the deck  that’s located at the very top of the restaurant on the premises. The Miraflores Locks Museum is worth a gander to learn more about this structure.
