Out of all the places in Europe, one has to see all these best places to visit in Croatia before you die. It would be a crying shame not to. This country isn’t necessarily the #1 place on people’s Europe itinerary, but after reading this, we are pretty confident that will change.

Croatia is an incredible country that is rich in history, teeming with some of the most drop dead gorgeous natural attractions and provides some equally amazing beaches to chill out on after you’re exhausted from a day of exploring. What more can a vacationer ask for in a destination?

8. Pula

This has been a popular destination since Roman times, when people scampered there way here to see gladiators battles for their lives. Nowadays, the amphitheater isn’t hosting any bloody battles, but you can see it,  as well as the other beautiful sites this city offers. Beaches, sailing, architecture, historical sites, temples, and more can be enjoyed here.

7. Zadar

This Dalmatian Coast beauty offers its visitors a more authentic feel since it’s not as popular as some of its sister cities. Here is a place where you can really explore the culture and history of the country. The city is 3,000 years old and hosts an Old City with churches, medieval and Roman architecture, and ruins.

6. Split

Also on the Dalmatian Coast, this is the second largest city in the country. Split offers up plenty of historical sites like Gothic buildings and Renaissance architecture. The marble walkways and maze-like pathways will provide you with many adventures for finding those perfect little cozy cafes and charming shops.

5. Plitvice National Park

This is considered one of the most beautiful places in the country, and Europe! It’s absolutely stunning, there are almost no words. Step into a fantasy land of lush greenery amongst cascading waterfalls. There are several lakes where the waterfalls spill into providing an absolutely picturesque scene.

4. Hvar

A bit of beach and a bit of history. Just what you want out of your holiday. Don’t feel guilty beach bumming on these gorgeous beaches, because the next day you can wander about the 13th century walls and stone streets to admire the gothic buildings, fortresses, churches, and all the history this incredible town offers. This is certainly a two-for-one.

3. Zagreb

Here’s the country’s capital, and like most capitals, it provides rich history mixed in with some new and modern attractions for its visitors. The cultural scene is vibrant at the heart of the cosmopolitan city, the nightlife is happening, and the history dates back to the 2nd century with buildings to prove it. There’s plenty to keep you busy here for a while.

2. Korcula

Korcula is an island off the coast and in the Adriatic Sea. This is a popular tourist location for its historic attractions consisting of Venetian Renaissance architecture, but the natural attractions are just as appealing with sandy beaches and vineyards for miles. Be sure to take a stroll down the colorful markets in town.

Another breathtaking site that will leave you almost speechless. The natural scenery consists of a natural pool and flowing waterfalls with blue-green shades depending on how the sun hits it.
