4 Weird and Unique Museums in The World

3. The Museum of Broken Relationships

Zagreb, Croatia

Another weird museum for you to visit is the Croatian structure containing numerous objects from broken relationships in Zagreb. The people behind this idea wanted to make a sanctuary of the broken relationships they had and to encourage people to overcome the emotional stress after the relationship breakup.

The idea was born in 2006, as a traveling show that displayed the items behind the failed relationship of Olinka Vistica and Drazen Grubisic. The pair remained together as business partners, and the idea got very popular, attracting more and more visitors. Soon the traveling show came to Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, where they established a museum.

Today the Museum of Broken Relationships attracts around 3,500 visitors a month and is the only museum of this kind in Europe. Around 100 exhibits are showcased in several museum sections, each representing different type and length of broken relationship. In 2011, this museum won the Kenneth Hudson Award for “The Most Innovative Museum in Europe”.
