Athens is a highly populated city, with lots of tiny roads, almost no signs indicating the way, and almost no traffic lights. Moreover, the fact that almost all signs are written in the Greek alphabet makes it even harder for a casual driver to get around the city. The city is plagued with motorcyclists that make the streets their own, and avoid almost every traffic restriction while driving through cars.
