9 Places to Visit in Sri Lanka Before You Die

There are many places to visit in Sri Lanka before you die, way more than you would think for a tiny tear-dropped shaped island, that’s for sure. So where would you like to go in Sri Lanka? You might not be sure because Sri Lanka hasn’t really been on your radar. You’re not alone, many are probably in your shoes as well. This small island might be overlooked with its cheap neighbors to the east –  like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, or its massive northern buddy, India. It’s easy to forget about Sri Lanka. But what a shame it would be for you to miss this gem just because it’s not one of the most popular travel destinations in Asia.

After you land in Colombo and get your first bowl of scrumptious curry, you’ll need to make up your mind on what you’d like to get started on first. The modern capital will offer enough for a few days, but what else would you like to do?

Perhaps exploring tea plantation built by the English in colonial times? Not a tea person? OK, getting a history lesson and hopefully catching a festival might be more your thing. If you’re here to simply relax, then you should head to the south where some of the most magical beaches are located, in fact, some of the best in the world. There’s ancient ruins to discover, wild animals to try and hunt down, only for a picture of course, and of course hiking, experiencing the tastes, and meeting the people as well.

In terms of safety, Sri Lanka will make you feel right at home, you have nothing to worry about. Just use your common sense and the same precautions as you would at home, and you will have a magnificent vacation. So what will some of the places to visit in Sri Lanka before you die be like?
