9. Bath

8. Snowdonia

Stunning, gorgeous, breathtaking. These are just a few words that come to mind. There’s a 360-view of these towering mountains, lush valleys, and coastal vistas, together they make a spectacular scene. If the weather is clear enough, you can even get a glimpse of Ireland in the distance from up top these mountains. This is a national park and it holds the highest mountain in Wales and England, Snowdon.

7. Lake District

As you can image, one of the main attractions here are the placid and beautiful lakes, but that’s not all. They are surrounded by lush mountain tops and rolling hills. A magnificent scene, for sure! This is the country’s second largest national park and besides the dramatic vistas, hiking and climbing are the other main draws.

6. Cambridge

Just north of the nation’s capital is Cambridge. Nestled on the River Cam, this culturally diverse college town is a popular destination, not just for the prestigious college students, but for tourists as well. The gothic architecture that adorns this city, as well as Cambridge College itself, are just a couple of the intriguing sights to see.

5. Cornwall

Here’s something a bit different for you. This coastal city is a quaint getaway from the hustle and bustle of some of the regions more busy cities. It’s located on a rocky peninsula that offers up some stunning views. Its golden beaches and charm captivates every visitor.

4. York

This pedestrian-friendly city is rich in ancient history and provides numerous  interesting attractions. The York Minster Cathedral is the city’s landmark and its stone walls hold so much history. Take a stroll along the meeting point of the River Foss and River Ouse and make your way around the other historical sites.

3. Edinburg

Not enough history? This next spot is teeming with historical and architecturally interesting buildings. In fact, there’s over 4,500 historical buildings in the area, so that should keep you busy for quite some time. The Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse are a couple of landmarks to check out, but the cobblestone streets will lead you to plenty more.

2. Scottish Highlands

Ben Nevis is located here, the highest mountain in the UK, but there are heaps of sprawling mountain tops around it creating a picturesque scene. The population here is spread out and sporadically placed on the mountainsides and valleys. The Eilean Donan Castle is a picture-perfect castle and the world famous lake, Loch Ness, is probably the regions feature attraction due to the legend, the Loch Ness monster.

Well of course this list wouldn’t be complete without one of the most incredible cities in the world. Full of history, teeming with museums, inundated with parks, galleries, shopping, and mouthwatering dining options, London is truly a world city. Diversity is rampant throughout, and it’s impossible to leave without seeing it’s iconic landmarks, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower Bridge.
