As a child and teen, I spent a lot of time at the dentist. I think I just inherited unruly teeth, as I have never been a big fan of sweets and sugary candy or drinks, and my mom rarely lets us have that stuff in the first place. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for a dental hygienist in the U.S. was around $72,000 in 2016. In the majority of places in the country, that’s an excellent salary to have. The bureau also expects job opportunities in the field to grow within the next decade.
