10. Iceland

Students are required to go to school until the age of 16. Almost every school in Iceland is public. Very few are private. School for 1 – 6 year olds are called playschools and it’s not required. College is free in Iceland, but registration fees are required. The literacy rate of Iceland is 99% for both men and women.
