Percentage of vegetarians: 13%
With about 13% of its population being vegetarian, Israel is ranked second among countries with the highest number of vegetarians. Even though religion has a lot to do with it, vegetarianism is becoming popular among those who are not religious as well. According to Reuters, even the Israeli army started offering vegan meals and supplying soldiers with leatherless boots and wool-free berets.
