Indonesia is one of the most attractive markets in Asia for tech companies. The country, home to some 250 million people, has one of the highest concentrations of social media users. In fact, out of the total population, some 88 million use the Internet and 79 million are active social media fans. Facebook apparently has over 77.5 million users in this country, while Instagram has 9 million. Twitter is also rather popular here, with over 24 million users of the service residing in Indonesia.

The numbers are great and they’re only going to keep growing. In January 2016 the year-over-year growth in the number of active social media users was 10%, while the growth in the number of active Internet users was 15%. This alone makes it easy to see that the social media usage in Indonesia is going to keep climbing in the years to come, making it one of the most exciting markets out there.
