To get our list of 6 best smartphones with OLED displays, we used the data provided by OLED Info that lists all the smartphones currently equipped with OLED displays. We browsed the list and took the ones that are considered the best taking into consideration the specifications and overall impression while including different manufacturers and price ranges.
6. One Plus 3
While the first two One Plus models featured LCD, the company decided to give it a try and go with OLED. They didn’t make a mistake. One Plus 3 has a screen of 5.5 inches with 1080 x 1920 pixels and ~401 PPI pixel density. The screen is praised for the great viewing angles and less reduction in brightness. The only issue may be that the colors don’t seem natural. The rest of the phone is great as well, delivering 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, Quad – core processor and a praised back camera of 16MP.
5. Oppo F1 Plus
Although this smartphone was labeled as an iPhone rip-off, we came across some encouraging reviews and decided to put F1 Plus on the list. According to the manufacturer, a team of researchers developed special eye protection settings and included it in the smartphone. We would have to try it to believe it. 4. Xiaomi Mi Note 2
We mentioned in earlier articles that Mi Note 2 which ranks 4th in our today’s list of best smartphones with OLED displays, would fit perfectly for everyone that wants a replacement for Samsung’s Note 7. Xiaomi already tried OLED display with Redmi Pro, and it seems they’ve liked it since Mi Note 2 got one as well. The smartphone has a 5.7-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and ~386 PPI pixel density. It isn’t QHD as you may expect, but even this Full HD OLED does the job. Especially for its price, since Xiaomi didn’t abandon its policy of producing great phones for a cheap price. The rest of the specifications include 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage and a back camera with 22.5MP.
3. Google Pixel
One of the most talked about phones in this year had to be included on our list of 6 best smartphones with OLED displays. Google abandoned Nexus and tried its luck with Pixel, making a phone that somehow reminds us of iPhones. In spite of our mixed feeling, Pixel has a great Full HD display, mostly thanks to the fact that it’s 5.0 inches big. The resolution comes at 1080 x 1920 with ~441 PPI pixel density. Although the 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Quad – core may not convince you, Pixel is already labeled as one of the best Android phones ever made.
2. ZTE Axon 7
ZTE is following Xiaomi’s example in offering offering lower-priced but exemplary phones with Axon 7 being a perfect example. 5.5 inch Quad HD display on Axon 7 is astonishing and labeled as one of the best on the market. It exceeds previous entries on the list with both resolution (1440 x 2560) and PPI pixel density (~538). Other specifications are on point for the price with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, Quad – core processor and respectable 20MP back camera.
1. Samsung Galaxy S7
Did you really expect someone else to top our list of 6 best smartphones with OLED displays? For some time now, Samsung is pushing OLED displays in all of the company’s products including the smartphones and is considered OLED’s main supporter. If you know that reviewers are branding S7’s 5.1 inches QHD display as “close to perfection”, then you see the benefit of OLED. The screen has a 1440 x 2560 resolution like Axon 7 but a higher PPI pixel density of ~577. With Galaxy S7, Samsung continued making extraordinary smartphones, and it is definitely the phone of the year. iPhone can’t even get near it.
