14. Friends are more important than family.
They say you can choose your friends, but not your family. At some point in our lives, friends are the ones who know our deepest secrets and give invaluable advice. They are more involved in our everyday life and thoughts, giving us the drive we are desperate for when things go downhill. On the other hand, family bonds can be tighter than it seems at first sight.
