1. Kiribati – 81.5%
The Republic of Kiribati is an island nation located in the central Pacific Ocean. The 2010 census showed that the country, which became independent from the United Kingdom in 1979, has a population of just 103,000 people, 81.5% of whom are overweight. Thus, this tiny territory, which most people do not even recognize, has the dubious distinction of being one of the fattest countries in the world.
