Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the world and also one of the fattest countries in the world, as WHO data clearly shows. Most of the work is performed by a large expatriate population, while the native Saudi population lives on generous subsidies given by the government. It is the only large country in which the percentage of overweight people has crossed the 70% mark. Saudi Arabia’s oil riches have sadly increased the health problems of its population.
