The world is always looking for more information about the people starring in various news pieces, so we’re going to take a look at the top 10 most googled people in 2015.

If you’re going to say that you never use Google to search for more details regarding one individual or another, you’re surely lying. That’s because we all do it, even when we’re watching a TV show and we see someone we know played in that movie we can’t remember the name of. Therefore, looking for famous people that land up in the news is even less uncommon.

10. Jeremy Clarkson

Clarkson is one of the famous British journalists beloved by car enthusiasts across the world thanks to Top Gear, the show that’s made him famous.

While he may have been appreciated for his sarcasm during the shows, his behavior behind the cameras wasn’t that appreciated by the people he was working with. In March this year, he was suspended from the show after a disagreement with one of the producers, one that many compared to a temper tantrum thrown by a grown man who ended up punching someone over the food he was served.

The BBC was begged by over a million people not to suspend the show and to bring back Clarkson, but they wouldn’t hear of it, choosing not to renew his contract.

9. Dakota Johnson

While she may be the daughter of Melanie Griffith, Dakota Johnson’s name wasn’t exactly well known up until 2014 when it was announced that she’d be the one to play Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades series. She previously had roles in movies such as “21 Jump Street,” “Need for Speed” and “The Social Network,” but it was this particular movie series that really made the Texas-born actress famous.

Her performance in the movie wasn’t that acclaimed by critics, but then again, the role isn’t exactly well written, while the story is lacking. But that doesn’t matter anyway since the fan base of this movie series doesn’t particularly care about all that.

8. Sia

For the past few years, one music artist managed to take everyone by surprise, putting out hit after hit and, even more importantly, illustrating those videos in a way that seems to have been lost along the way. After all, videos that actually tell a story have been dead for years. Well, that seemed to be the case regarding Sia’s videos this year, videos that have been quite controversial.

This year, the video for Elastic Heart has spurred quite a few conversations since Maddie Ziegler’s partner in the clip is actor Shia LaBeauf, more than twice her age. The story behind the choreography was lost on many who saw this whole video in a rather sickening way.

Trump really needs no other presentation as he’s been known for a lot of years. The business magnate has made a name for himself over the years, flaunting his wealth all over the place and trying to teach others his recipe for success.

This year, however, he decided to take things a step further and try out for a new role – the President of the United States. If you thought you knew anything about this man’s views before, you were probably mistaken as new details emerged as soon as he opened his mouth to expose his plans for the United States if he were to become president.

Throughout the past few months, Trumps has made a lot of remarks that have been classified as racist, misogynistic and more. Despite every stupid thing that has come out of his mouth, Trump continues to have massive support from Republican voters which might just mean that he’ll actually be a candidate in the 2016 elections.

You’re probably familiar with Ruby Rose’s name, as the Australian model, artist and actress has been quite visible in recent years. Starting out as an MTV VJ, Ruby Rose is a rising actress nowadays. One of the roles people seem to love her in is that of Stella Carlin in Orange Is the New Black, the beloved TV show.

She also stands out thanks to the many tattoos that cover her body, a body that is appreciated by many, especially in the nude scenes that she filmed for the above-mentioned TV show. Her love life has also been put under a spotlight this year, and she ended up breaking up with her fiancé, Phoebe Dahl.

5. Charlie Sheen

Ah, the man of the hour. Charlie Sheen, an actor with a long list of movies, has been in the news quite a bit lately. This has been, in part, due to him admitting in front of everyone that he is HIV positive, refusing to be blackmailed anymore. According to the actor, he’s known about the diagnosis for four years. The women of his past are none too happy about this as they claim to not have been informed about his health issues, which could lead to serious consequences for them.

Sheen’s abuse of various substances has kept him in the spotlight, especially as he struggles to carry on after his departure from the Two and a Half Men show.

Perhaps one of the most beloved English singers right now, Adele has made it to the fourth place in the top 10 most googled people in 2015. People are always interested in knowing what Adele is up to, especially since she first chose to take a pause from the spotlight to raise her newborn son, and then this year she decided to come back to the music scene.

Not only did she release a new song and video, but she also released an album to go with them all, managing to short circuit pretty much all the charts on half the globe as she shot to the top spot and refused to leave. What’s more, she even broke YouTube, as her video for “Hello” became the video that got the most views at its debut. After 48 hours it had some 50 million views, and within five days it had 100 million. The track also had some 900,000 downloads within the first week.

3. Caitlyn Jenner

Former Olympic gold medalist, Caitlyn Marie Jenner is a TV personality nowadays. Jenner has been in the spotlight for years, especially thanks to his marriage to Kris Jenner, the famous Kardashian matriarch, with whom she shares several children.

This year, however, Caitlyn was in the news thanks to her decision to reveal her identity as a trans woman and change her name from Bruce. In her 60s, Jenner has been on hormone replacement therapy several times throughout the years, including before becoming involved with Kris Jenner back in the 90s. When her marriage was over, she decided to go through with one of the biggest dreams she had ever since she was a child.

2. Ronda Rousey

Martial artist, judoka and actress, Ronda Rousey has been in the news a lot this year. On top of landing a spectacular knockout during one of her matches, she also played several important roles that brought her to the big screen. This year, for instance, she played Kara in Furious 7, one of the hottest movies of 2015. She’s also had a role in The Expendables 3, which was released in the summer of 2014.

Rousey was also named the Best Female Athlete at the ESPY Awards back in July, surprising many. The MMA fighter has kept up her work, however, rolling with the punches and trying to show everyone who she is and why she deserves to be on top.

1. Lamar Odom

Odom is a 36-year-old former professional basketball player that’s married to Khloe Kardashian. Even though he’s had quite a career, playing for the LA Clippers, Miami Heat, LA Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, Odom is best known in recent years for his relationship with the Kardashian clan. What’s more, he not only appeared in the famous Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but also starred in his own reality TV show, Khloe & Lamar.

This isn’t, however, what’s kept him in the news this year. Instead, it’s the fact that he was found unconscious, suffering from an overdose, on the floors of a brothel called Love Ranch from Nevada. He was already in a coma and was placed on life support. It was a few days before he regained consciousness after suffering from various medical issues, including strokes and kidney failure.

Ever since then, he’s been working to get back to his life, but recovery is tedious. Tabloids write that his mobility has been affected, as well as his memory, but none of this has been confirmed.

Either way, this puts him at the top of the list of the 10 most googled people in 2015.
