6. Age

According to the Official Gazette, in order for a foreigner to adopt a child from Philippino, he or she must be of legal age, and must be at least sixteen years older than the child. More precisely, the adopter must be at least 27 years old at the time of application. There is an exception to this rule and it concerns biological parents only. The maximum age difference between the adopter and the child to be adopted must not exceed 45 years.
