In order to create our list today we checked out Class Curious, a site that’s here to offer all types of classes you might enjoy. Some of the programs even offer private Italian lessons NYC. We also went to Google and ran a search, trying to locate some popular options. In the end, we checked how much the tuition was for these classes and split the sum by the number of hours the course covers so we could compare and see where you could get the best value for your money.
Without further ado, here are the 5 best Italian language classes in NYC.
5. ABC Language
Tuition: $475
To start things off we have ABC Language, a location that offers classes for multiple languages, such as Chinese, Farsi, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and more. Italian, of course, is on the list as well.
The Italian language classes they offer cover all skill levels, catering to total beginners, or advanced speakers.
Classes last for 1.5 hours and you can choose whether to spend 6, 8 or 12 weeks training. The best value for your money is if you choose to go on the 12-week program, which costs $475, but the others aren’t that much more expensive in per-hour costs either. The 8-week program costs $350, while the 6-week course just $275.
The tuition costs cover the textbook you’ll need for the course.

4. CitySpeak
Tuition: $395
Similarly to ABC Language, CitySpeak also offers multiple language classes, from French to Spanish, Portuguese to Japanese, Russian to Arabic.
The Italian classes they offer here also come in multiple difficulty levels. For instance, they offer classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers. All courses cost $395 and cover 16 hours of classes over 8 weeks.
You’ll learn everything from basic introductions to how to ask for directions, order food and so on. By the time you’re through with the advanced class you’ll be able to confidently pick up a conversation in Italian.

3. Collina Italiana
Tuition: $480
Next up on our list of best Italian language classes in NYC is offered in the Italian language and cultural center Collina Italiana. Here, you can choose out of a number of classes. For instance, you can learn about grammar and conversation in a 10-week long class with weekly two-hour meetings that cost $480.
A language intensive workshop here goes for $390 and covers eight two-hour classes, teaching students about basic Italian grammar and focusing on the language’s phonetics, common phrases and expressions, basic dialogues and grammar.
There are also private classes available and workshops regarding Italian culture and language.

2. JP Linguistics

Next up is JP Linguistics, a place that’s located in Lower Manhattan. Here you can learn not only Italian, but also French and Spanish.
The Italian classes they offer seek to help you learn by using cultural references, tailoring vocabularies and grammar for you. You can choose whether to go for private lessons or learn alongside everyone else. Each class is tailored to suit your knowledge level – beginner, intermediate, expert.
JP Linguistics offers 10-week courses with weekly meetings that last for two hours. Classes have a maximum of 6 people, so it should be easy for the tutors to get involved into giving you proper training.

Tuition: $399
Finally, at the top of our list we find Fluent City, a place that offers multiple language classes, such as Russian, Japanese, Arabic and Hebrew. They also offer Italian classes, no matter if you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced speaker.
Classes cost $399 and last for ten weeks. Every week you’ll spend two hours in class, whether that’s in SoHo, Downtown Brooklyn, or Williamsburg, although other locations are also available. There’s also an additional $40 required for the textbook you’ll need for the class. The place offers enough options on when to start, what hours and days to take that there’s really no excuse for putting it off any longer to start learning a new language, or, more specifically Italian.
With each class you’ll learn more and more about how to speak Italian properly, grammar, syntax, and any other rules there are, while also expanding your vocabulary.
