Students across the world choose to change schools at one point or another, for a wide range of reasons, so we wanted to see which were the easiest good schools to transfer into.

There’s also a rather large group of students that simply decides the school they were admitted to simply doesn’t fit them anymore or was a bad choice from the get-go, and just want to go somewhere else, either closer or farther from their homes, depending on their goals and their familial relationships. For our list today we checked out an analysis made by the Washington Post which takes into consideration the number of transfer students for the fall of 2014, although the list does not include several schools that did not release public numbers on the matter. We handed out points by the number of transfer and, separately, by the value of the transfer share of the total number of students, as well as by their ranking in the worldwide list of best universities via Top Universities.

Without further ado, here are the easiest good schools to transfer into.

15. University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign

Score: 20

Over at the University of Illinois, there were over 1,330 transferred students in 2014, making up 16% of the student body. The University also fares quite well among the world’s schools, ranking 66th.

There are plenty of academic units you can pick from here, depending on your interests. For instance, you can learn about business, education, engineering, law, information sciences, media, medicine, or study to become a vet.

14. Texas A&M University

Score: 24

Up next is Texas A&M University, a place that accepted over 2,500 transfer students, making up 19% of all those enrolled here. The University is also quite high up among the world’s best educational institutions, ranking 160th on this particular list.

The University of Southern California welcomed over 1,400 students, making up 32% of the entire student body. The school also ranks 136th on the global list.

Over at the Ohio State University, there were over 2,600 transfer students, making up some 27% of all students. The public school ranks 88th on the world’s list of best Universities.

The top ranking university on our list of easiest good schools to transfer into – Berkeley – landed on the 28th spot this year among the world’s best schools. They’ve opened their arms to close to 2,200 students, with the number of transfers amounting to 29% of the entire student body.

There are several schools and colleges here that you can choose from, namely chemistry, education, engineering, environmental design, business, information, journalism, law, letters and science, natural resources, optometry, public health, public policy and social welfare.

3. University of California San Diego

Score: 51

California is the go-to place for students who want to transfer to a different university. The University of California San Diego ranks third on our list of easiest good schools to transfer in after welcoming over 2,400 kids from other places; that means some 33% of the student body.

The Univesity of California San Diego ranks 40th on the world’s list of best schools and offers a wide range of majors, from anthropology to bioengineering, dance, Earth sciences, history, linguistics, philosophy, or sociology, to name a few.

2. University of California – Davis

Score: 52

Up next on the list of easiest good schools to transfer into is the University of California – Davis, a school that welcomed over 3,130 students, making up 37% of its student body. The University ranks 85th on the global list of best schools.

UC Davis has a long list of majors to choose from, including American studies, applied math, biomedical engineering, East Asian studies, geology, microbiology, music, political science, theater, and dance.

1. UCLA

Score: 58

Finally, at the top of our list of easiest good schools to transfer into is the famous UCLA, the school that opened its doors to the largest number of transfer students – 3,167, making up 35% of its total number of students.
UCLA is also the second-highest rated University on our list, landing the 31st spot on the global ranking of schools.

UCLA offers over 125 undergrad majors in six academic divisions – the College of Letters and Science, School of the Arts and Architecture, School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Music, School of Nursing, and School of Theater, Film, and Television.
