We made sure to include a wide variety of easily digestible foods for your dog, from protein-rich lean meat to soft oats and broth. So tell your canine to get ready to feel his best. But as a caution, as with all human foods, be sure to start in low doses, just in case your dog is allergic or reactant to something. Conditions like pregnancy, diabetes, and heart conditions should warrant even more caution, so be sure to consult your vet.

This is a great protein source that’s easier to digest than other meats. Plus, it’s more wallet-friendly than other alternatives like lamb. It’s even recommended for dogs who suffer from allergies.

8. Tuna

This member of the fish family contains lots of vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, as well as boosts protein. Mixing it into your dog’s regular meal is a great way to make it more exciting and healthy for him. Salmon is also said to be beneficial. But, if you go with canned fish, make sure to get it packed in water and without any added salt.

More nutritious that white potatoes and heart-healthy, this is another soft food that’s easy on the digestive tract.

5. Lean meats

Chicken is contained in many Kibble flavors, and turkey and fish (as mentioned previously on this list of easily digestible foods for dogs) work well too. Shy away from hamburger, however. The grease content is a little too high.

4. Chicken broth

And speaking of chicken, its broth can provide your dog with hydration. Add it to his regular food, and it’ll also increase his desire to eat. But make sure the broth is free of onions. These can be highly toxic.

3. Rice or rice water

White rice can subside a dogs diarrhea, and rice water, like chicken broth, provides good nutrients. Try a watery rice porridge by adding 3 quarts of low boiling water to 1 cup of cooked rice or broth. Cook for twenty minutes and bon appetite for Fido!

2. Oatmeal

Instead of making one bowl for yourself in the morning, wake Fifi up with a bowl of his own. Be careful with any toppings, though.

1. Eggs

This treat is included in many homemade dog diets, and it’s even said to be a better source of protein for dogs than meat. Especially dogs with digestive upset. Be sure to cook them first, though.
