1. Cargill

The largest privately held company in the United States by revenue, Cargill easily tops the list of top 11 agribusiness companies in the world in 2020, with revenues exceeding $113 billion, and even that is a fall from 2018, where revenues exceeded $114.5 billion. While Cargill, as a conglomerate, has many different arms, agriculture is its biggest earner, and since the accounts are private, we cannot ascertain the exact division, but can say with confidence that it is the larges agribusiness company in the world in not just 2020 but in 2019 and further previous years as well.

Hedge funds probably would have invested in Cargill if it were a public company. Our calculations show that the second most popular agribusiness stock among hedge funds is Deere. A total of 32 hedge funds had bullish positions in Deere. The most popular agribusiness stock is Dupont (DD). There were a total of 64 hedge funds with bullish DD positions at the end of June. Even though DD is a very popular hedge fund stock, it could break into our list of the 30 most popular stocks among hedge funds.
