7. Bodrum

You will find this historical gem in the Aegean region. This spot was home to the Mausoleum which was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The ruins of the city as well as the intriguing Castle of St. Peter are all a must while visiting Bodrum. The castle is now a museum and wandering around its 1400’s structure is humbling. It’s not all history though, with amazing coastal vistas and beaches, you can enjoy yourself in the sun as well.

6. Cappadocia

Odd terrain, almost alien-like, is what you find here in Cappadocia. These weirdly natural volcanic structures make funky cones and pinnacles that are scattered around the region. As you can imagine the phenomenal structures are a sight to be seen, and the best way to do that is by hot air balloon. 5. Ephesus

Get your history while in Ephesus. Wow, what a sight to behold. This city holds the library of Celsus which has incredible statues and structures dating back centuries. The Temple of Artemis is also another historical site to visit while you’re here. The marble ruins were swamped at one point, so this Seven Wonders of the Ancient World site has only some remains.

4. Mardin

Perched on a hilltop you will see a sea of sandstone buildings covering this hilltop, that’s Mardin. Looking over Mesopotamia, this is one of the oldest settlement in the region and it’s extremely culturally diverse. You can learn more about the history here and enjoy the astonishing views.
