6. Cape Winelands

It’s OK, you can get excited. The name doesn’t hide anything. Here’s the wine country scene. The magical atmosphere around here is truly something else. Sweeping vineyards with a rich green hilly background makes a magnificent view while sipping on the delectable flavors of a red wine blend or something else delightful from some of the best winemakers in South Africa.

5. Cape Town

This beauty is perhaps what makes many people fall for South Africa. This southern city is host to a number of drop-dead gorgeous sights, some of the best city life the country has to offer, and nature to impress. Climb Table Mountain or take the cable car up, take a swim at False Bay or jump in with your board and ride some rad waves. Kite surfing, diving and shark cage diving are possibilities as well. How about a wine tasting to wind down at night? Try to catch an event or festival depending when you get here. The list is endless.

This is the quintessential national park for the country. It’s the largest on the African continent, and boasts the most incredible animals on the planet. This attraction on the list is a bit of a cheat. It’s not just one spot, it’s a route that goes along the N2 highway down to Storms River Village. It’s miles and miles of some of the most scenic and epic places to visit in South Africa. There are far too many to name, but a quick list of great places to stop along the way would look something like this: The ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Sedgefield, the Bramon Wine Farm for a well deserved glass of red or white, and stop at Plettenberg Bay for some killer whale sightings. National Parks, hidden towns and villages, lakes, and tons of coastlines will make this the ride of your life.
