4. Krushevo

Krushevo is a very high settlement in Macedonia that signifies a long struggle that the country faced against the oppressive Ottoman rule. A rebellion soon ensued and the area was freed from the Ottoman, but the independence only lasted for ten days. The leaders of the rebellion were Pitu Guli and Nikola Karev. Nowadays, a statue of Meckin Kamen is used to recognize the final moments in the uprising as all the revolutionaries were finally killed and the area burnt down by a very powerful Ottoman army. Another structure used to commemorate this uprising is the Makedonium building.
