Even though the state of Florida is recognized as one of the top ten diverse states in the country, the city of Jacksonville in Florida is one of the top conservative cities in the United States. Furthermore, among America’s 25 largest cities, the city of Jacksonville is the only city that skews more conservative than liberal. Almost 50% of the population in Jacksonville, Florida, leans republican and have voted republican in majority according to the results of last five US elections. It is the largest city in the continental United States with over 840 square miles. Duval Street, like the county, was named for William Pope Duval, the first Territorial Governor of Florida member of the old democratic-republican party which is now the republican party. Furthermore, Jacksonville Florida is also the home of an American Fortune 500 company named Fidelity National Information Services, Inc.  (NYSE: FIS), that provides a wide range of financial products and services across the country.
