In today’s world of gadgets which need to be charged constantly because for some reason, we have perfected nano technology, but can’t create a battery which lasts longer than a day or two. This is why travelling can be a chore, and why your work desk is a mess that can take hours to untangle.

However, while the battery mafia has ensured that our devices don’t last a week on a single charge, we still have the next best thing in wireless chargers. Now, many people think that wireless chargers are useless and just a showpiece, with little to no practical purpose, but this belief could actually not be much more further than the truth. Another benefit to a wireless charger is that you don’t have to consistently plug your phone in. This saves the charging port from damage. I mean, how many of us have either accidentally or on purpose, ripped out the phones from their charging cords because of negligence or impatience. It also allows greater flexibility as well, where you can keep the phone right next to you and can pick it up and carry it without having to first unplug the phone from cord. Perhaps the least important but still valid reason for wireless chargers is that it allows for better waterproofing and a sleeker look as well.

Because of the reasons mentioned above, many major phones have wireless chargers as well. Many manufacturers have still not come on board with wireless charging, due to the fact that it only works on high ends phones with glass backs, which lowers our options, but we still have multiple flagship phones in our list of best smartphones with wireless charging, and some of which have a stylus as well, which can be seen in 5 best smartphones with a stylus.

One of the hot wireless charging stocks that investors piled into over the last 5 years was Energous Corporation (NASDAQ: WATT). The stock went public in 2014 at $6 per share and investor enthusiasm pushed the stock’s price as high as $31 by the end of 2017.  Investors were expecting that Energous would supply Apple’s wireless charging chips. Unfortunately Apple had other plans and Energous shares crashed. Currently Energous shares are trading for $2.70. The company generated a total revenue of $114 thousand during the second quarter of 2020 and has a market cap of $112 million.

To determine our list, we first looked for phones which have wireless chargers of course, excluding those that didn’t. Then, we considered various websites which rank the phones according to their specifications, such as screen size and quality, memory, storage, camera, battery and of course, the most important of all, the processor. We have also considered the maximum supported wireless charge speed for each phone. The list will of course be dominated by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung (KRX: 005930) flagship phones. So let’s take a look at the phones which are already using next gen charging technology, starting with number 5:

5. Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Pixel 4 XL

Google has been hit and miss with its entry into the smartphone industry, and while its latest phone has some great features, it’s hard to compete with some of the more famous smartphone companies out there. Add the fact that it only supports 10W of wireless charging and the phone barely made our list.
