Philippine girls have won three Miss Universe titles (Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margarita Moran in 1973, and Pia Wurtzbach in 2015), four Miss Asia Pacific International (in 1982 by Maria del Carmen Ines Zaragoza, in 1983 by Gloria Aranas Dimayacyac, in 1989 by Lorna Villanueva Legaspi, and in 1993 by Michelle Zulueta Aldana), Miss World won by Megan Young in 2013, amazing six titles at Miss International (Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Mimilanie Marquez in 1979, Precious Lara Quigaman in 2005, Bea Rose Santiago in 2013, and Kylie Verzosa in 2016), and three Miss Earth titles (Karla Henry in 2008, Jamie Herrell in 2014, and in 2015 Angelia Ong). With a total of 17 titles, Philippines easily tops our list of countries with the most beautiful women in Asia. While some would say that these results are due to the country’s obsession with beauty pageants, the fact that these girls had to beat some fierce competition in order to get their crowns. Obsession or not, it is still impressive.
