There are currently well over 3.6 million teachers in the United States. In some cities in the United States, teachers barely make over $30,000 annually such as in Beaumont in the state of Texas. On the other hand, some cities can even pay nearly $100,000 to the teachers in the city such as Norwich-New London, in the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island. This is an astounding variation in the pay earned by teachers. The pay is comparable to that for kindergarten teachers, as seen in the 11 cities with the highest demand for kindergarten teachers.

In order to determine the cities with the highest demand for teachers, we used the US Bureau of Labor Statistics to find the cities with the highest salaries for teachers as paying a higher salary means that there is a greater demand for the profession. On the other hand, we also considered the cities with the highest number of jobs for teachers, as logic dictates that high employment means there is a great demand for the profession, as well.
