Fastest Cars In The World: The Top 13

Wonder what the fastest cars in the world are? Everybody with a driver’s license has probably dreamt at one point or another of being at the helm of a super speedy car and maybe some of us have even had the chance to do so. Wondering which are the fastest cars in the world? Well, we have compiled a list of ten of the fastest and sleekest cars around.

For the purposes of this countdown, only production cars were taken into account, leaving out concept or modified vehicles. In addition, the models included in our top have top speeds that have been tested, measured, and verified.  Cars that only in theory could reach faster speeds were not taken into account.  The models in our countdown were ranked according to their top speed in miles per hour (mph).

The undisputable leader, well, at least this year, is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which is not only the fastest cars to roam the streets, with a mind-blowing top speed of no less than 267 mph, but also one of the most expensive, with a base price of $2.4 million. Apparently, if you want speed you have to be willing to pay for it; check out our list of the most expensive cars in the world for more.

At the other end of the spectrum, barely making our countdown, we have two competitors tying for the 10th spot, with a “measly” top speed of only 217 mph: The Ferrari Enzo and the Jaguar XJ220. Their top speed might be less impressive than that of Bugatti’s prized car, but they also come with more affordable price tags. Sort of.
