Currently, due to a rising population and limited space available, most of the cities in the United States use skyscrapers to cater to the growing demands, but which are the top 11  US cities with the most skyscrapers in 2015?

Skyscrapers are more of a necessity than a luxury. It is no surprise that cities with a high population and limited space such as New York have an increasingly large number of skyscrapers. These are often residential buildings but are also used for office space. Since skyscrapers are often used as headquarters for giant companies, it is no surprise that there is some overlap between the top 11 US cities with the most skyscrapers in 2015 and the 15 biggest US cities ranked by GDP. 10. Seattle

Located in Nevada, Las Vegas has a population of nearly 600,000, but that is not the main reason behind the number of high-rise buildings in the city. Due to the high influx of tourists to the region, all trying to get a taste of the high-flying life that can only be experienced in Vegas, a large number of high-rise hotels have been built, with The Palazzo hotel being the tallest building in the city.

9. Atlanta

Number of skyscrapers in the city: 16

The capital of Georgia, Atlanta’s skyscrapers are mostly focused on the Peachtree Street. The first skyscraper in the city was the State of Georgia building which was constructed in 1967. Meanwhile, the tallest building in Atlanta is the Bank of America Plaza, which is 55 stories and has a height of 312 meters.

8. Boston

Number of skyscrapers in the city: 18

It is not surprising that capitals of states are frequently mentioned in the top US cities with most skyscrapers in 2015, mainly due to the fact that major companies are hosted there.
