Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s flagship smartphone has made the cut on this year’s list of most searched for gadget. Even though Google’s high tech Android phone still faces tough competition from Samsung and Apple, it appears that consumers have taken a liking to this smartphone.

No. 8: Google Chromecast


Another Google original makes the cut: the Google Chromecast. This digital media player, which you can plug directly into your TV, allows you to stream video and audio content on your big screen using Wi-Fi or local networks.

Arguably the best Android smartphone ever manufactured, the HTC One has been quite popular amongst consumers in 2013. Even though the phone has dropped in searches due to the release of other highly expected phones in the last months of 2013, HTC One still managed to secure the number 7 spot on our countdown.
