Billionaire Mario Gabelli’s GAMCO Investors Reports Stake In Southwest Gas Corp (SWX)

In a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, billionaire Mario Gabelli‘s GAMCO Investors has reported its position in Southwest Gas Corporation (NYSE:SWX). According to the filing, GAMCO and its affiliates own a total of 2.60 million shares of Southwest Gas Corporation, which represent 5.47% of the company’s outstanding common stock, while GAMCO owns 1.11 million shares of the aggregate holding. In its last 13F filing, GAMCO reported holding some 1.26 million shares of Southwest Gas Corporation.

Overall, Southwest Gas Corporation (NYSE:SWX) was in the equity portfolios of 12 funds from the Insider Monkey database at the end of the fourth quarter of 2015. GAMCO Investors held the largest stake, followed by Phill Gross and Robert Atchinson’s Adage Capital Management, with a $30.3 million position. Some other peers with similar optimism comprise Israel Englander’s Millennium Management, Jim Simons’ Renaissance Technologies and Ken Griffin’s Citadel Investment Group.

On the other hand, Thomas M.
