13D Filing: Billionaire Mario Gabelli Raises Exposure to Kaman Corporation (KAMN)

According to a recent 13D filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, billionaire Mario Gabelli‘s GAMCO Investors and its affiliates own 19.27% of Kaman Corporation (NYSE:KAMN). The filing showed that the position amasses 5.21 million shares and the largest parts of the aggregate amount are held by GAMCO Investors and Gabelli Funds with 3.75 million shares and 1.24 million shares, respectively. In its latest 13F, GAMCO reported ownership of 3.58 million shares of Kaman.

Kaman Corporation (NYSE:KAMN) has experienced an increase in enthusiasm from smart money during the fourth quarter. KAMN was in 18 hedge funds’ portfolios at the end of the fourth quarter of 2015, compared to 15 hedge funds in our database with KAMN holdings at the end of the previous quarter.

Aside from GAMCO, other investors with substantial positions in Kaman include Amy Minella of Cardinal Capital, with a $40.4 million position; the fund has 2.3% of its 13F portfolio invested in the stock. Chuck Royce’s Royce & Associates, Joel Greenblatt’s Gotham Asset Management and Israel Englander’s Millennium Management also ranked among the largest shareholders of KAMN at the end of last year.
