Microsoft Surface Tablet: Are Sales Associates Steering Buyers Away from Microsoft’s Surface?

Microsoft Surface Tablet: There is no denying the fact that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Surface tablet has stumbled out of the starting blocks, as we discussed here and here.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)As noted by BGR last week, R.W. Baird analyst William Power released some notes regarding his conversations regarding the Surface at multiple retailers including Staples and Best Buy.

Before we get into the specifics of Power’s findings, here is a brief overview from BGR:

While speaking with sales reps at the stores, Apple’s iPad was the most highly recommended tablet while Amazon’s Kindle Fire line and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab line were both recommended as alternatives. Microsoft’s Surface tablet, on the other hand, was not pushed by reps at either chain.

Officials for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) cannot be happy with this. When the Surface tablet finally made its way onto retail shelves, the company was hoping it would help take sales to the next level. This has yet to happen.
