In short, Apple is looking to “replace existing office and research buildings to create its new Apple Campus 2.”

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%While the company has submitted a development proposal, with a project this big you can expect changes to be made from time to time. After all, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is building on 175 acres of land that was formerly used by computer giant Hewlett Packard.

The City of Cupertino is doing a great job of keeping people updated with the Apple project. Most recently, the city published several updates that the company is hoping to make to its plans for its new campus.

For example, you should pay close attention to its bicycle plans.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has high hopes of making its campus one of the most environmentally friendly in the world. For this reason, you can expect plenty of bike paths scattered throughout the campus.

Everything Apple is doing with its new campus is meant to meet this mission:

“Apple proposes to create Apple Campus 2 – an integrated, unified and secure 21st Century campus surrounded by green space. This new development will provide a serene environment reflecting Apple’s brand values of innovation, ease of use and beauty. The entire 176-acre site will be redeveloped with sustainable, state-of-the-art office, research and development facilities. The project replaces the current disjointed assemblage of aging corporate facilities with a single high performance office, research and development building, with supporting facilities. The buildings are located in a unified and secure landscape, which extends and connects the interior workplaces to outdoor facilities for relaxation, recreation and reflection. The entire Campus, indoors and out, is intended to promote shared creativity and collaboration, and spur invention of the next several generations of Apple products.”

Although this sounds like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) does not yet have approval to move forward with the project, the company is actually pushing forward with a pretty tight timeline.

Apple hopes to be completed by 2016, despite the fact that it has run into setbacks, including construction delays and budgeting issues.
