In Japan, it seems that a lot of parties cannot be complete without drinking. A lot of Japanese people enjoy drinking and they do it socially. The drinking environment in Japan is so different from what is being portrayed on television because those who drink seem to be more polite and respectful in real life. Of course, there are still some who abuse alcohol that may end up doing some trouble but it is not as common as compared to some western countries.
