Rajaratnam Wins Back His Passport, Apartment And $2.5 Million Cash

Raj Rajaratnam, who was formerly sentenced to 11 years in prison for insider trading, can have his passport, his $17.2 million Manhattan apartment and $2.5 million cash back, according to a Bloomberg report.

Hedge fund titan Raj Rajaratnam was convicted to pay a $92.8 million penalty, which was the largest insider trading case ever assessed against a person in SEC, along with 11 years in prison. In total Rajaratnam will be paying a total of $156.6 million.

Raj Rajaratnam began to serve his prison sentence on December 5th at a prison about 40 miles northwest of Boston. This is the longest sentence in prison for insider trading.
