The total population of Austria is more than 8 million people. The origins of modern-day Austria date back to the time of the Habsburg dynasty when the majority of the country was under the Holy Roman Empire. After the collapse of the Habsburgs, Austria used the name the Republic of German-Austria, which was after forbidden under the two treaties: Versailles and Saint-Germain-en-Laye. So, after that the name changed to Austria.
