Just like in any other place in the world, there are cities across the United States where people just aren’t that interested in having sex, so we wanted to find out which exactly were the least sexually active cities in America.

However, there are many places around the world that fall exactly in the opposite category, such as Greece which is the most sexually active country. Belgium’s Antwerp isn’t doing that bad either, as a new study put it on the list of the world’s most sexually satisfied cities. Paris is also doing quite great, as it was named the most sexually active city in the world this year by adult mobile app Lazeeva.

Some cities are known as go-to places for sexual escapades, such as these Easiest Cities to Get Laid in The World, while others are obviously a little bit more toned down in this category. Whether it’s the weather at fault, the more advanced median age of the area or just a lack of libido, it’s hard to tell, but things are certain – some places could use some pick-me-up juice to get it going on.

Of course, even if you were to have such encounters, you should probably keep in mind that you’d do best to avoid these 16 most sexually diseased cities in America, unless you want to go home with an unwanted gift or two. As always, keep in mind to use protection, as that’s the only way to make sure you keep your health intact and your future partners’.

Back to our list, we should mention that we searched high and low for data to help solve our problems. In the end, we went to the CDC to discover the states with the lowest birth rates, because that’s a great way to tell if the population is sexually active or not. The data we found was for 2015, which is pretty much as fresh as we can wish when discussing this type of official information.

Then, we took each of these 11 states with the lowest birth rates and used data from Town Charts to find the lowest birth rates among the state’s cities. We took things a step further and used Census Report to spot the fertility rates for these cities, meaning the percentage of women aged 15 to 50 that had given birth within the last 12 months. Since age is certainly an important factor when discussing a lack of sexual activity, we also checked out the median age within these cities, via the same website.

Then, we checked out the CDC’s report on the number of cases of STDs reported in each state and took those into consideration too. Technically, the more you have sex, the higher the chances of getting an STD, especially when multiple partners are involved. Therefore, the lower the number of STD cases, the higher the score the city received. We handed out scores for gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia, so there are multiple rows in there.

We would have liked to add other details too, to create a broader picture of which cities are the least sexually active, such as the sales of prophylactics, be it birth control pills or condoms, but that’s not something one can find online.

Once we handed out points for each of the above-mentioned categories, we added them up, resulting the ranking for the 11 least sexually active cities in America.

11. Turner, Oregon

Score: 24

Located in the North-West area of the state, Turner isn’t necessarily what you’d consider a large city. It’s home to less than 2,000 people, according to the 2010 census, crowded in a total area of 1.45 square miles. While back when the census was done, about a third of all households had children under the age of 18, there haven’t really been that many babies landing in town in recent times, indicating that either people were less active, or more careful about protection.

Oregan’s birth rate in 2015 was 11.3%, while Turner had a birth rate that hit 1%. When it comes to the town’s fertility rate, only 1.3% of the women between 15 and 50 years old had a baby in the past 12 months. The city’s median age is 37.4, so it’s not exactly advanced enough to explain the other numbers.

In 2015, in Oregon for every 100,000 people there were 411 cases of Chlamydia, 81 cases of Gonorrhea, and 8.7 cases of Syphilis.

10. Hazel Park, Michigan

Score: 27

Next up on our lsit of least sexually active cities in America is Hazel Park, Michigan, a city located in Oakland County, in the Eastern area of the state. The city has over 16,000 residents spread over nearly 3 square miles.

The state’s birth rate is at 11.4%, while the city barely hits 3%. Furthermore, the city’s fertility rate was counted at 2.9%, with the median age of the residents being 36.6 years, which is, in fact, the lowest on our entire list.

For every 100,000 people living in Michigan there were reported 496 cases of Chlamydia, 104 cases of Gonorrhea, and 4.1 cases of Syphilis.

9. El Portal, Florida

Score: 35

Florida is known as a go-to place for many retirees, which would explain, in part, the placement on the list of least sexually active cities in America. In fact, the state’s birth rate is just 11.1%.

El Portal, a city in the sourthern area of the state, has a birth rate that barely hits 3%. Furthermore, the fertility rate for the city was calculated at 2.5%, so only a small percentage of the ladies here have recently given birth. The city’s median age is 41, which is just below the 41.8 years which is the state average, and well above the 37.8 US average.

Down in Florida, in 2015 there were reported 455 cases of Chlamydia, 121 cases of Gonorrhea and 10.5 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.

8. West Reading, Pennsylvania

Next up on our list of the least sexually active cities in America we have West Reading, Pennsylvania. The latest census shows the city has a population of over 4,200 residents, all of which live in an area of 0.6 square miles.

Pennsylvania’s birth rate for 2015 was calculated at 11%, but West Reading barely hits 5%. The town’s data shows that only 4.6% of women between 15 and 50 had given birth in the past year. The population in the city has an average age of 38.5 years, so it’s not exactly advanced in any way.

According to the CDC, in Pennsylvania in 2015 there were reported 418 cases of Chlamydia, 100 cases of Gonorrhea and 5.1 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.

7. West Boylston, Massachusetts

Score: 43

Next in line on the list of least sexually active cities in America is West Boylston, located in the heart of Massachusetts, and called home by some 7,700 people who live in an area covering 13.8 square miles.

The birth rate in Massachusetts was averaged at 10.5%, but the city barely hits 3% on itself. Furthermore, only 3.3% of the women with ages between 15 and 50 had given birth recently. It should also be mentioned the city’s median age is 38.4 years, which doesn’t really justify the low activity levels in the bedroom.

In Massachusetts, in 2015, there were reported 357 cases of Chlamydia, 57 cases of Gonorrhea and 6.2 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.

6. Avenel, New Jersey

 Score: 46

Over in New Jersey, we find Avenel, which is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Woodbridge Township. Over 17,000 people call this place home, US States Census data shows.

New Jersey’s birth rate was calculated at 11.5%, but the city’s birth rate is only 4%, well below the state and national average. Furthermore, data further shows that only 4.4% of females between 15 and 50 years old had a baby recently. The median age of the locals is 39.5 years, which is perhaps lower than we’d expect for a town that has lost interest in sex.

Over in New Jersey, for every 100,000 people there were reported numerous cases of STDs, namely 351 cases of Chlamydia, 81 of Gonorrhea, and 4.2 cases of Syphilis.

5. East Greenwich, Rhode Island

Score: 47

Up in Rhode Island, we find East Greenwich, a town that’s home to over 13,000 people. East Greenwich is considered to be the wealthiest municipality within the entire state.

Rhode Island’s birth rate was calculated at 10.4%, which is well below the national average. The birth rate in East Greenwich, however, was of 5%, similar to the area’s fertility rate. The median age of the city is 43.7, over the 39.7 years state average.

4. West Hartford, Connecticut

Score: 50

Located in the central area of the state, West Hartford is home to over 63,000 people, according to data from the 2010 census. The town’s area is also larger than what we’ve seen so far, hitting 22.3 square miles, most of which is land.

Connecticut’s birth rate for 2015 was 10%, but the city barely hit 3% on its own, which is odd for a city this large. Furthermore, 3.3% of the women between ages 15 and 50 had a baby in the past year. It should also be mentioned the median age of the citizens in West Hartford is 41.8 years.

Connecticut reported 365 cases of Chlamydia, 58 cases of Gonorrhea, and 2.6 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.

3. Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Score: 59

Our number three on the list of least sexually active cities in America is Located in Cumberland County in Maine, Cape Elizabeth is a city with over 9,000 residents. Located in the southern area of the state, the city spreads over nearly 46 square miles.

The state’s birth rate in 2015 was 9.5, while Cape Elizabeth’s birth rate barely hit 1%. In fact, only 1.3% of the ladies between 15 and 50 years old gave birth in the past 12 months. While Maine itself has a pretty high median age at 44.6 years, Cape Elizabeth’s median age is the highest on our list – 51.1 years, which could, in part, explain the lowered interest in sex here.

Over in Maine, there were 298 cases of Chlamydia, 31 cases of Gonorrhea, and 6.2 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 people living here.

2. Essex, Vermont

Score: 63

Up next we have Essex, a city of some 21,000 residents located in the North-Western area of Vermont. The city is quite large for such a small population, spreading over nearly 40 square miles.

While Vermont’s birth rate is 9.4%, which is already quite low, Essex has a birth rate of 3%, which is extremely low. The fertility rate hits the same 3% here, which means only a small number of the ladies have had a baby recently. The median age for the city of Essex is 40 years, which is actually below the 43.1 state average.

Over in Vermont, in 2015 there were 303 cases of Chlamydia, 25 cases of Gonorrhea, and 1.4 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.

1. Bedford, New Hampshire

Score: 70

Finally, the city that wishes it wouldn’t be at the top of our list is Bedford, New Hampshire. The city is home to over 21,000 people who live in an area of over 33 square miles.

New Hampshire’s birth rate in 2015 was of 9.3%, while the city itself barely hit 2%. Similarly, the city’s fertility rate was of 2.4%, meaning just a few women actually had a child in the past year.

The city’s median age is 43.8, which is well above the state average of 42.8, which might play a bit factor in the lack of interest in sex in the area. The state reported 233 cases of Chlamydia, 25 cases of Gonorrhea, and 3 cases of Syphilis for every 100,000 residents.
