Whether you’ll go with family, friends, or maybe your partner, all of these beaches and resorts will give you what you are looking for. From astonishing sights and natural beauties, to exciting parties and field trips, Turkey has it all. Most of the beach resorts lie along the Aegean and the Mediterranean Sea coasts, and there’s a lot of them, so we had a hard time picking out the best ones for you.

They are all nice, and neither of them will make you regret visiting them. With that said, let’s take a look at 11 best beaches in Turkey for families:

11. Kalkan Beach

In 11th place stands Kalkan Beach, which lies on the left side of the Kalkan harbor. It is a beach very popular with visitors and locals, with an incredibly clear water, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Restaurants, shops, cafes, toilets and changing facilities are all near the beach, available to everyone. The greatest detail about this beach is perhaps that it has got a blue flag award for cleanliness, which is just a reason more for you to visit it.

10. Kleopatra Beach, Alanya

If the information that the mythological Egyptian queen Cleopatra stopped by in Alanya to have a swim in this bay is not reason enough for you to check it out, maybe the blue flag for cleanliness, and the Damlatas Cave will change your mind. If you’re looking for a long swim and relaxation with your family, this beach is the right choice.

9. Beach of Side 

In number 9 we give you Side, which is actually an old city, but is surrounded by two major beaches, which are very long and sandy. The west and east beach, called by the locals, offer many sporting facilities like diving, fishing, boat tours, waterskiing, parasailing, etc. But, not only entertainment and adrenaline can be found here, you will also find peace and quiet, along the long coast. After all, Side has some of the nicest turtle beaches in the whole Mediterranean.

8. Bozcaada Beach

We couldn’t have finished up the list without this name on it. In 8th place stands Bozcaada, which is actually a small island off the western coast of Turkey. The main reason we placed it here, is because it is one of those rare and magical places where you can relax without hordes of tourists bothering you. Hidden beaches and swimming holes, are just some of the nice things Bozcaada has to offer.

7. Kabak Beach

Kabak is a small village in Lycia, Turkey and the perfect place to escape big groups of tourists. If what you are looking for is a truly laid-back experience, this would have to be your pick. There’s not much here to do, to be honest, but that is exactly why it has earned the 7th spot, as it offers nothing but pure enjoyment.

6. Olympos Beach

The Olympos beach is such an attraction to a lot of tourists thanks to its tree-house hostels. Similar to the beach ranked 7th on our list, it offers you peace and quiet, but at the same time there’s a thing or two to do here. Kayaking is an option, as well as rock climbing and mountain biking. A great beach in Turkey for families.

5. Oludeniz Beach

If we are not mistaken, this beach has not yet greeted a visitor, who hasn’t had their jaw dropped. The only reason the Oludeniz Beach, or Blue Lagoon, isn’t ranked higher, is because you will have to walk quite a lot, to get anywhere. Still, a perfect sandy beach with a beautiful scenery, it remains as one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean.

4. Kelebek Vadisi, or Butterfly Valley

Ranked 4th is beach which is accessible only by boat, and frankly quite small. However, it is the perfect place to totally switch off and enjoy the view. The beach is simply gorgeous and the stunning walk to a waterfall nearby, will leave you speechless. A true paradise beach.

3. Cirali, the Turquoise Coast

This beach lies in south-west Turkey, an hour’s drive from Antalya. It is the perfect place for families and nature lovers, due to its protected natural beauties. Although it’s not as developed and modern as the neighboring Olympos beach, it is more suited for people who want to enjoy the wonderful nature. It is flanked by two huge mountains, making it a sight you will never forget.

2. Iztuzu Beach

Iztuzu Beach is a beach near Dalyan, in southwestern Turkey. It is actually a natural barrier separating the fresh water delta of the Dalyan River and the Mediterranean. Also called “Turtle Beach” it is a place where the loggerhead sea turtles breed and lay their eggs. The Iztuzu Beach is excellent for children and people who like calm waters.
