Top 6 Grossing Actors in 2013

So, which are your top movies for 2013? Fast and Furious 6, Iron Man 3, or The Hobbit 2? It has definitely been the year of the sequels and a successful one at that. But which actors grossed the most at the Box Office?

Following, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of top 6 grossing actors in 2013, based on the statistics issued earlier this year by Forbes Magazine. Keep in mind that the figures do not refer to how much the following actors earned in 2013, but rather to how much their movies made in the year that has just passed.

Curious to see who’s starred in the most successful movies of 2013? Let’s take a look at the countdown.

No. 7: Billy Crystal

2013 grossing: $743 million

It took 12 years for the sequel to Monsters Inc. to be finally released, but the wait was apparently well worth it. Monsters University became the highest grossing movie in Billy Crystal’s career, with $743 million in ticket sales.

No. 6: Paul Walker

2013 grossing: $789 million

Irony would have it that, just before his tragic death, Paul Walker had scored the biggest hit of his career – Fast and Furious 6. Walker’s performance in the sixth installment of the series helped the movie earn a whopping $789 million. Walker filmed most of Fast and Furious 7, which is scheduled to appear in summer, and, as a tribute to him, it has been rumored that Universal won’t reshoot the movie, but rather work around the actor’s untimely death.

No. 5: Sandra Bullock

2013 grossing: $862

Bullock’s only movie of the year, Gravity, does not only make her one of the highest grossing actors of the year, but it is also very likely that she will also receive an Oscar nomination for her role. A sincere congratulation to the only woman in our countdown for one of the most brilliant performances of 2013.

No. 4: Vin Diesel

2013 grossing: $887 million

Vin Diesel starred into sequels this year: Fast and Furious 6 and Riddick 3. We’ve already mentioned how the Fast movie performed at the Box Office this year. While Riddick only grossed about $98 million, it was enough for Vin Diesel to push ahead co-star Paul Walker.

No. 3: Steve Carell

2013 grossing: $964 million

Steve Carell’s mesmerizing voice made him millions in 2013. He starred in the second highest grossing movie of the year, Despicable Me 2, and his additional roles in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Way Way Back helped raise his final balance even more.

No. 2: Robert Downey, Jr.

2013 grossing: $1.2 billion

Robert Downey, Jr. may have starred in only one movie in 2013, but it just happened to be the highest grossing movie of the year. The third installment of the Iron Man series grossed a total of $1.2 billion, the highest any movie did in 2013, but it’s still less than what The Avengers, 2012’s biggest earner, managed to do.

No. 1: Dwayne Johnson

2013 grossing: $1.3 billion

It has been a really active year for the former Scorpion King, who starred in one of this year’s biggest hits, Fast and Furious 6. Dwayne grossed $789 million solely from the sixth installment of the series, but his roles in G.I. Joe and Pain & Gain helped round up his final figure. 2014 also looks bright for the Rock, as the7th Fast and Furious is scheduled to appear in the summer. And we’re more than curious to see how Johnson’s other movie for 2014, Hercules, will fare out at the Box Office.
