If you love a good ghost story, then this is the article to read. While there are numerous small towns across the country that pride themselves with the ghost stories they can tell you, the list we have compiled for you focuses on some of the nation’s biggest, and of course most haunted, cities.
So, let’s take a look at the countdown.
No. 6: Key West, Florida

Probably one of the last things to come to mind when thinking of Florida is ghost stories. However, you might be surprised. Some of the most famous haunted stories surrounding Key West are that of Ernest Hemingway’s home and of Captain Tony’s Saloon, which was once the location of the town morgue.
No. 5: Salem, Massachusetts

Our countdown wouldn’t have been complete without mentioning Salem.
Salem, which prides itself with the title of Witch City, is infamous for the execution of 19 people accused of engaging in witchcraft. Gallows Hill, one of the sites of the executions, is said to be haunted by the spirits of those who lost their lives in the hangings.
No. 4: Chicago, Illinois

There are numerous famous ghost stories associated with Chicago, Illinois. One of them, referred to as the “Devil Baby of Hull House” talks of a child who was born with a pointed tail that still haunts the house to the day. Another famous Chicago story is that of Resurrection Mary, a girl who was killed by a car as she was leaving a dance. Story has it that she can still be seen roaming the streets in her prom dress, looking for a way back home.
