But while for some people, working at full gear round the clock seems like a breeze, a vast majority of people still struggle keeping up. More often than not, it’s not even about come up with ways to increase our productivity, but rather with shedding the habits that bring it down. Today, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the top 7 habits that can kill productivity. Read below to see what’s been stopping you from reaching your full potential. No. 7: Bad diet

A healthy and balanced diet doesn’t have an impact only on your waistline, but also on how you perform, both from a mental and a physical point of view. Try to stick to stricter meal hours, focus on healthy food products, and try not to eat very late at night; by doing so, you should see an increase in your energy levels and, in turn, in your productivity.

No. 6: Multi-tasking

You might be inclined to believe that, through multi-tasking, you achieve more in less time. However, by concentrating on more than one thing at a time, your mind will have issues switching back and forth, thus reducing your focus and level of productivity. If you truly want to be more productive, stick to one task a time and give it your full attention.

No. 5: Too much on your plate

In this day and age, we all seem to be too busy pretty much all of the time. But in order to become truly productive, you have to learn how to prioritize and deal with issues and tasks that are truly important. Learn to say “no” from time to time, especially when you don’t envision gaining something from a particular task.

No. 4: Constant procrastination

Are you one of those persons that keep putting things off till the very last minute? While you might argue that you work better under pressure, the truth of the matter is that you can seldom be efficient when you’re working to beat the deadline. From now on, make it a point to start your tasks and projects in due time so that you can focus on them the way you’re supposed to.

No. 3: Lack of confidence

Sometimes, the reason why some people fail to achieve is simply because they don’t believe in themselves. If you’re the kind of person that gets easily intimidated, it is only natural that you aren’t as productive as you could be. The biggest step in achieving something and doing proficiently is believing that you can.

No. 2: Too many distractions

Distractions are everywhere: whether it’s your aunt calling on the phone, someone commenting on your Facebook photo, or your spouse sending you links with cat videos. But all of these can significantly decrease your focus and productivity. Next time you have a task at hands, make sure you turn off any distractions and postpone checking your phone until you’ve successfully completed your job.

No. 1: Not asking for help

Pride and the desire to do it all on your own may prevent you from asking for help anytime you’re dealt with a new situation. However, asking for pointers from others shouldn’t be considered something demeaning. Guidance and expertise can not only make you do a better job, but they can also provide you with valuable knowledge that will help you in the future.
