Sculptor Capital came to life in 1994 as Och-Ziff Capital Management. Daniel S. Och founded Ozh-Ziff Capital Management in 1994 after raising $100 million from the Ziff family. The hedge fund went for a successful IPO in 2007, and got listed at the New York Stock Exchange. Och-Ziff Capital Management was among the largest hedge funds in the world, amassing more than $30 billion in assets under management at one point. Och-Ziff Capital Management uses a multi-strategy, multi-geography approach, and has offices in New York, London, Mumbai, Beijing and Hong Kong. With a personal net worth of $4.2 billion (2021), Och’s investment career has had several notable quarters where he returned excellent gains to his stakeholders. Daniel Och completed his Bachelor’s in economics and finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and joined The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) in 1982, working at their risk arbitrage department. In his 11 years at The Goldman Sachs Group, Och served as the head of proprietary trading and the co-head of U.S. equities trading.

In 2018, Och stepped down from his role at the hedge fund, and currently Jimmy Levin is the chief investment officer and CEO of Sculptor Capital.
