On June 3, WeRide Inc. (NASDAQ:WRD) confirmed it is teaming up with Renault Group to offer level 4 autonomous minibus shuttle service at the 2025 Roland-Garros tournament. It is the second year in a row that the global leader in autonomous driving technology is teaming up with Renault Group.

The shuttle service has allowed WeRide and Renault Group to strengthen their partnership as they seek to scale autonomous mobility solutions in Europe. Since its launch last year, WeRide’s Robobus service has successfully offered safe and reliable commuter services in real-world environments. Powered by WeRide’s autonomous driving system, the Robobus shuttle is designed to support low-carbon transportation across urban roads, airports, and tourist sites.

According to Patrick Vergelas, Autonomous Mobility Project Manager of Renault Group, autonomous electric minibuses, and shuttles underscore safe, smoother, and efficient public transport. The return of the Robobus service for a second year, according to WeRide CEO Tony Han, reinforces confidence in the technology.

WeRide has set sights on the European market as part of its global expansion plan. The company has already secured regulatory approval for the autonomous minibuses in five markets, including France, Singapore, Switzerland, and China. The company is working on bringing the service to more cities across the region.

WeRide is a global autonomous driving technology company that develops and deploys solutions for various applications, including robotaxi, robobus, and robosweeper services.
