Wedgewood Partners Q4 Investor Letter

Wedgewood Partners, an investment firm located in St. Louis, Missouri, recently released its Q4 investor letter – you can download a copy below.

During the full year 2017, the firm gained 20.4%, versus 30.2% by the benchmark Russell 1000 Growth Index and 21.8% by the S&P 500 Index, according to the letter.

In the Wedgewood’s portfolio, top performance detractors during 2017 were Schlumberger, Celgene, Core Labs, Kraft Heinz and T.J. Maxx, while top contributors include PayPal, Apple, Visa, Berkshire Hathaway and Priceline, the firm told its clients.

Meanwhile, Wedgewood gained 8.5% during the fourth quarter of 2017, versus gains of 7.9% by the benchmark Russell 1000 Growth Index and 6.6% by the S&P 500 Index during the quarter.

Its top performance detractors in the fourth quarter include Celgene, Priceline, Schlumberger, Cognizant Technology and Kraft Heinz. During the quarter, Qualcomm, Fastenal, Ross Stores, Tractor Supply and PayPal had performed well for Wedgewood.
