ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) Ltd (IMOS) Is Among The Winners

On the back of these news, these stocks surged in the early morning trading after the market’s opening bell. Among these stocks are: Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX), Celanese Corporation (NYSE:CE), Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK), and others.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX) has surged the most among all stocks on Friday. The stock traded 56.25% higher at $82.61 in deals worth over $8.0 million. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ: VRTX) posted positive results “from a mid-stage study of its cystic fibrosis treatment.” “Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX) said cystic fibrosis patients who took the drug, known as VX-661, combined with an already approved treatment, ivacaftor, showed statistically significant improvements in lung function,” Valuewalk said.

SGOCO Group Ltd (NASDAQ:SGOC)is the next on the list growing by 25.01% to $1.55. SGOCO Group Ltd (NASDAQ:SGOC) is planning to announce its financial figures for the fourth fiscal quarter and for the fiscal year ended December 31, before the market opening bell on Monday, April 22, according to The Sacramento Bee.

ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) Ltd (NASDAQ:IMOS) appreciated by 18.11% to 16.50 on Friday. According to 4-traders, ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) Ltd (NASDAQ:IMOS) will start today trading of shares of ChipMOS TECHNOLOGIES INC. a Taiwan corporation which is the subsidiary of ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) Ltd (NASDAQ:IMOS). Also, on Thursday company said about selling of 6.5 million shares of ChipMOS Taiwan’s outstanding shares at the price of NT15.0 each.

Celanese Corporation (NYSE:CE) is the fourth-highest gainer advancing by 13.64% to $47.99. The company has reported its financial results for the first three months of 2013. Celanese Corporation (NYSE:CE)’s GAAP operating profit increased by 66% on the year to $184 million, Business Wire reported. The GAAP earnings per share fell by 27% on the year to $0.88 due to GAAP taxes. Adjusted earnings per share, however, rose by an annual 44% to $1.44, Business Wire added.

With a gain of 12.99% Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK) has also made the list, the stock trading at $17.74. Overstock.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSTK) posted some very positive quarterly financial results, which showed increases on all figures,  among which is an annual 18% increase revenue, which amounted to $312.0 million, 4-traders said.

Viasystems Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAS), a company specialized in multi-layer printed circuit boards and electromechanical solutions, is also on the list. The stock of Viasystems Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAS) rose by 11.81% to $13.54.

Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc (NYSE:RH) grew on the back of positive financial results. The stock increased by 9.92% to $36.0. A statement on Business Wire reported that Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc (NYSE:RH) posted an adjusted net income of $24.2 million for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended February 2, 2013, which is 24% higher than a year ago.

Healthways, Inc. (NASDAQ:HWAY) increased by 9.26% to $12.04. The company posted a flat total revenue of $165.2 million in the first quarter of 2013, 4-traders said in a statement. At the same time, Healthways, Inc. (NASDAQ:HWAY) reported a net loss of $3.9 million ($0.12 per share), against a net loss of $2.7 million a year earlier.

Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE:COF) is also one of the top gainers, growing by 9.09% to $18.60. The Company’s EPS for the first quarter outperformed the analysts’ expectations, Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE:COF) posting an EPS of $1.79, compared to estimated $1.60, Reuters said.

New Concept Energy, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:GBR) is closing the list with a gain of 8.53% to $1.09. New Concept Energy, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:GBR) is an oil and gas wells operator and owner.
