Blackberry Tablet Market: Research In Motion Could Reenter Tablet Market in 2013

Blackberry Tablet Market: There is no denying the fact that the tablet market is crowded right now. For this reason, many wonder if Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) will try to get in on the action in the near future. After all, the company did not have much success during its initial foray into the market.

At this time, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is the clear leader when it comes to the tablet market, thanks to its full-size and mini iPad devices. Additionally, Samsung and Google join the company at the top.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is reporting that Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) may throw its hat into the ring during Quarter 3 of this year.

At this point, there is no concrete evidence that this is going to happen. However, a “leaked roadmap suggests that the Canadian handset maker intends to roll-out a BlackBerry 10 tablet in Q3 of this year.”

The roadmap first appeared on the Twitter account @BB10Leaks, showing a device that would go by the name of “B10L.”

A third quarter launch would make sense, allowing the company to hype the tablet just before the holiday season kicks off.

It is important to note that @BB10Leaks did not reveal where the information originated. For this reason, it is difficult to say if it is true or just another rumor that seems to be so common in the tech space.

With Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) picking up steam in the smartphone market, thanks to its Z10 smartphone and new operating system, it may be time for the company to strike while the iron is hot. That being said, it must be careful to not bog itself down with a product that flops against multiple heavyweight competitors.

The tablet market is difficult to break into, so it will be interesting to see if the company decides that now is the time to get involved.

We will keep you updated on any additional rumors or official information released by BlackBerry.
