Novo Nordisk (NVO) Reports Positive Phase 3 Reimagine Trial Results

On June 7, 2026, Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE:NVO) presented Phase 3 results from its Reimagine 1-3 trials, which showed significant reductions in HbA1c and weight in adults with type 2 diabetes. The Reimagine trials met their primary endpoints, showing significant HbA1c reductions, and met their confirmatory secondary endpoints for bodyweight reduction. The data were presented during a late-breaking symposium at the 2026 Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in New Orleans, alongside publication of the Reimagine 1 and 2 results in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology and the Reimagine 3 results in The Lancet.

Also on June 7, Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE:NVO) announced new real-world evidence in adults with type 2 diabetes treated with once-weekly semaglutide 1 mg. The analysis compared escalation to semaglutide 2 mg with switching to tirzepatide. By one year, both groups were associated with similar proportions of patients achieving HbA1c of less than 7%, while patients on semaglutide 2 mg had a statistically significantly higher event rate for achieving weight loss greater than or equal to 5%.

Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE:NVO) also presented post hoc analyses from the SELECT, STEP, ESSENCE, and OASIS trials at the ADA Scientific Sessions, highlighting data on semaglutide across weight-related conditions. Senior medical director Andrea Traina said the analyses add to the clinical evidence for semaglutide across obesity, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
