AMBA is emerging as a compelling Edge AI and perception-compute platform that could be significantly undervalued relative to its long-term opportunity.

The investment thesis centers on the view that the market continues to value Ambarella as a niche semiconductor company despite its growing position across automotive, industrial AI, edge infrastructure, security, and robotics. Fiscal 2026 revenue increased 37% to a record $390.7 million, while Edge AI revenue grew 50% and represented 80% of total revenue.

The company has shipped more than 42 million Edge AI system-on-chips, generated approximately $1 billion in cumulative Edge AI revenue, and accumulated over 370 customer AI projects in production, demonstrating that its AI strategy is already translating into meaningful commercial success. While investors are increasingly focused on robotics, automotive may prove to be the more immediate growth driver.

Automotive revenue recently reached an all-time high, supported by expanding adoption of AI-enabled telematics, where increasing sensor and camera content can drive higher revenue per vehicle even without growth in vehicle unit volumes. Growth momentum remains strong, with first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue rising 16.9% year-over-year to $100.4 million and management guiding for continued expansion.

Additional upside stems from a long-term partnership with Hanwha that carries potential revenue exceeding $800 million over more than a decade and includes collaboration across security, industrial automation, life sciences, and robotics markets. Management has also disclosed more than 15 robotics design wins and a growing pipeline of opportunities.

The bullish case is that investors eventually re-rate Ambarella as a critical supplier of perception and sensor-fusion technology for physical AI applications. Under that scenario, the company could reach a $10 billion market capitalization within three years, implying roughly 3x upside and a 46% compound annual growth rate from its current valuation.

Previously, we covered a bullish thesis on Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPWR) by Hidden Market Gems in April 2025, which highlighted its attractive valuation, resilient fabless business model, strong pricing power, diversified customer base, and exposure to AI semiconductor growth. MPWR’s stock price has appreciated by approximately 173.72% since our coverage. Fluffy-Pineapple-143 shares a similar view but emphasizes Ambarella’s growing position in Edge AI, automotive perception, robotics, and physical AI infrastructure as drivers of substantial long-term upside.
