EPS Surprise: 26 Stocks Beating Wall Street Expectations

Financial data and software firm FactSet said that 10 out of 11 sectors in the S&P 500 report year-on-year earnings growth, with eight posting double-digit gains. Reuters also noted this month that strong corporate earnings have been supported in part by investments tied to artificial intelligence.

The Financials sector stands out for its strong performance, with several major banks and insurers reporting substantial positive EPS surprises, while Energy, Communication Services, Consumer Discretionary, Information Technology and Materials are notable for their solid growth.

On the other hand, pockets of weakness remain. The Consumer Discretionary sector, for instance, is experiencing declines, led by Household Durables and Automobile Components.

On August 10 alone, over 350 companies posted their earnings and 26 of them delivered notable surprises.
